Independent Living in a vibrant community

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Do you have to be Catholic to live or work at The Mercy Community?

Absolutely not. While Saint Mary Home and The McAuley were founded by the Sisters of Mercy, our community is welcoming to people on any and all faith journeys and from all walks of life. Our residents, clients, and colleagues represent the multi-faith and diverse population in greater Hartford.

What is a “CCRC?”

Continuing Care Retirement Communities offer accommodations for independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing, offering residents a continuum of care. A person can move among levels of care as needed. The Mercy Community is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International) as an Aging Services Network.
